Minimum Eligibility

ЁЯУЪ Educational Qualification For Sub-Inspector (SI) posts, a bachelor's degree from a recognized university is required. For the SI (Radio Mechanic) trade, the qualification required is Matric with a 3-year diploma in Electronics / Radio & TV Technology / Telecommunications / Computer / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution, or 10+2 with at least 50% marks in PCM from a recognized board. ЁЯОВ Age Limit The age of applicants must not exceed 30 years. For the post of SI (Staff Nurse), candidates must be between 21 to 30 years.

The Border Security Force Sub-Inspector (SI) is a Group B gazetted officer position in one of India's largest Central Armed Police Forces. BSF guards India's borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh, and the SI role is a key leadership position at the ground level.

Selection Process

Stage 1. Written Examination
Candidates have to appear in an objective-type written exam consisting of subjects like General Knowledge, Reasoning, Mathematics, English, and technical subjects (for technical posts).
Stage 2. Physical Standard Test (PST)
Height, chest, and weight measurements are checked according to BSF standards.
Stage 3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates are tested through activities such as running, long jump, and high jump.
Stage 4. Document verification
Educational certificates, identity proof, caste certificate, and other required documents are verified.
Stage 5. Skill/Trade Test
For some SI posts, a technical or trade test is conducted.
Stage 6. Medical Examination
Candidates must pass a detailed medical fitness examination.
Stage 7. Final Merit List
Final selection is made on the basis of performance in the written exam and qualifying stages.
