Minimum Eligibility

You must meet specific age and educational qualifications to sit for the exam. Age Limit: Minimum Age: 21 years old. Maximum Age: There is no upper age limit for standard applicants. Educational Qualifications: For Paper 1 (Classes 1–5): You must have passed your 12th standard (Senior Secondary) with at least 50% marks (or 45% under specific NCTE norms) AND possess a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a 4-year B.El.Ed. For Paper 2 (Classes 6–8): You need a Graduation degree with at least 50% marks AND a B.Ed. or a 2-year D.El.Ed. Note: Candidates who are currently in the final year of their teacher training courses (B.Ed/D.El.Ed) are also fully eligible to apply. 4. Validity & Number of Attempts Certificate Validity: Once you successfully qualify the JTET, your certificate is valid for a lifetime. You do not need to requalify after a certain number of years. Number of Attempts: There are absolutely no restrictions on how many times you can take the exam. If you wish to reappear in future cycles to improve your score, you are free to do so.

This is an Entrance Exam. If you clear exam and became teacher after giving teacher exam salary 35000 to 60000

Job Profile & Responsibilities By Examreport

The Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) is a state-level exam conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC). It is designed to qualify candidates for teaching posts in primary and upper primary government schools across Jharkhand.

If you clear JTET and subsequently pass the state's teacher recruitment exam, you will be appointed as a teacher in a government school. The roles are split into two levels:
Primary Teacher (Level 1 - Classes 1 to 5): You will be responsible for building foundational knowledge in young students. Daily tasks include teaching basic subjects, lesson planning, maintaining attendance and academic records, and organizing elementary activities.
Upper Primary Teacher (Level 2 - Classes 6 to 8): This role focuses on subject-specific teaching (e.g., Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies). You will deal with a slightly more advanced curriculum, evaluate student progress, and handle class administration.
